ANDRES INIESTA WANTS BARCELONA RETURN

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has revealed that he would love to return to the club. He made this known in a chat with Spanish journalist Gerard Romero on Twitch last month. According to him, it is difficult to predict what will happen in the future, but he wants to help the club.

Andres Iniesta is a product of the famed La Masia Academy at the club. He started his career at the club before making his first-team bow. The Spaniard would later attain legendary status at the club before his exit in 2018. He played 674 games for Barcelona during his time in the first-team winning a lot of titles including four Champions League titles. Iniesta was part of the Barcelona team that came from behind to beat 10-man Arsenal 2-1 during the 2006 Champions League final in Paris for his first Champions League title. He won his second and third Champions League titles as part of the Barcelona team that won two Champions League titles in three seasons under Pep Guardiola. Andres Iniesta won his fourth and final Champions League title when Barcelona beat Italian side Juventus 3-1 in the final of the competitionin 2015.

Iniesta signed for Vissel Kobe FC of Japan when he left Barcelona almost four years ago and he has played over 100 games for the team from the Japanese top flight.
Andres Iniesta and other Barcelona faithfuls would have been disheartened by the struggles at Barcelona earlier this season while Dutchman Ronald Koeman was the manager. Koeman was sacked earlier in the season and club legend Xavi Hernandez was appointed in his place. Barcelona are now clearly on the up since the appointment of the aforementioned Xavi. With Xavi in charge, Barcelona are closing in on a top-four spot at the end of the current La Liga season to guarantee Champions League football and they are also through to the Europa League round of 16 after seeing off Italian team Napoli in the playoffs.
