BARCA WILL WIN LEAGUE

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has said that he is extremely confident that the club can reclaim the title from Real Madrid this season. Barcelona lost the la Liga title after three years of winning the title in succession.

Real Madrid were able to get the title away from Barcelona after being successful during the course of the season. Andres Iniesta reckons that he does not due to the loss of hunger, but it was simply due to the fact that Real Madrid were better than them. Now completed refreshed and ready for the new season, the Spanish midfielder has said that he is eager to reclaim the title from Real Madrid.

BARCA WILL DOMINATE

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has said that he does not expect the club to relinquish their determination of European football – and indeed world football – following the departure of Guardiola.

The former Barcelona captain was responsible for turning around the fortunes of an ailing Barcelona team. He guided them to 14 trophies in the last four seasons, which has been unprecedented due to the football they have played. During this period, Barcelona have won three la Liga titles and two Champions League titles. Guardiola was recently succeeded by the former assistant manager Tito Vilanova, who has signed a two-year deal with the club.

Reluctant Leader

Before the opening game against Spain, Andres Iniesta avoided the limelight that he is starting to deserve very much. In 2010, Iniesta scored a pivotal goal in extra time that brought his team their first World Cup. From that point forward, he has been quick to underplay his own talents and point to the rest of the team and to the team as a whole.

Recently, Andres Iniesta was quoted...

"I just want to perform my role," Iniesta said Saturday. "I've never considered myself any type of leader."

While he may not wish to be seen as a leader, his performance is that of a strong visionary. The following days will put that leadership role to the test with the mid-filed missing a vital David Silva, making Spain a little nervous as the games progress forward.

CHELSEA LOSS WAS UNJUST

Andres Iniesta has described Barcelona’s defeat at the hands of Chelsea as “unjust” and has spoken of the teams regret at failing to finish a series of chances that could have put the Catalans into the Champions League Final.

Iniesta played a key role in the dominant first leg display for the Catalans and is understandably frustrated that the rest of his team were unable to finish off any of a number of good chances provided for them.

Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas and Sergio Busquets all missed good chances that could have at the very least earned Barca a draw in the first leg, and perhaps even a victory. The result though gave Chelsea a slight edge heading into the second leg and enabled them to see off Barca on the way to their first European crown.
