Everton manager David Moyes has said that Mikel Arteta is the exact replica of Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta. Although Arteta has not had the best of seasons he put in a good performance against Sunderland on Saturday which saw them win 2-0.

Moyes had to fight off interest for his Spanish midfielder and he will hope that his faith is repaid and that the midfielder gets back to his best in the second half of the season.

Speaking to the Echo Moyes said: “I thought he did well. He made the second goal with a bit more like what we’ve seen from him. I thought he was more in the thick of things, competitive as well, winning a few things in the middle of midfield”.
