INIESTA BACKS VILANOVA

The midfielder of Barcelona, Andres Iniesta, has said that Tito Vilanova has got incredible management qualities and he is doing a fine job at the moment. At the end of the last season, Josep Guardiola, had resigned from the post of the manager of Barcelona. After that, Vilanova was appointed as the Barcelona manager.

The Barcelona team has been performing brilliantly under the guidance of Vilanova in the ongoing season. Barca has played 7 La Liga matches so far in the season and has registered victory in 6 of them. Barcelona is currently placed at the first position in the La Liga points table with 19 points in 7 matches.

Vilanova is being hailed by many former players and it is being said that the Barcelona team is playing with more aggressive attitude in this season. But, Iniesta doesn’t think so. When asked whether he thinks that Vilanova has changed the attitude of the team, Iniesta said, “No, I don’t think so. It’s true that we are playing with aggressive attitude in the ongoing season, but, we had played with the same kind of attitude in the last season as well. The attitude of the team hasn’t changed much.”

When asked whether the working style of Vilanova is pretty similar to that of Guardiola, Iniesta said, “I think every manager has his own way of assessing things and communicating with the players. Vilanova’s working style is a bit different from Guardiola, but, he is a fantastic manager for sure.”

Iniesta wasn’t able to play in four matches for Barcelona due to a leg injury that he had discovered while playing for Spain. But, he has recovered from that injury now and he played in the last two matches against Benfica and Real Madrid respectively. Against Madrid, he played for full 90 minutes. When asked about that injury, Iniesta said, “That was not a major injury. I needed to rest for a few days and I am completely fir now. Hopefully, I would not have to face any fitness problem in the remaining part of the season.”
