Andres Iniesta is holding off contract negotiations

The captain of Barcelona, Andres Iniesta is entering the final 12 months of his contract with the Spanish club and even though the veteran player has already been offered contract extensions, Iniesta has recently stated that he wants to delay these kinds of talk until the end of the current season.

Andres Iniesta joined the youth academy of Barcelona at the age of 12 and from there on out, Iniesta has turned into one of the most influential players in the history of the club as he has helped Barcelona in lifting just about every piece of silverware that there is to win.

Even at the age of 32, Iniesta continues being a prominent figure as he is the captain and makes consistent performances but something that has recently been affecting him is injuries as it has forced him to stay out of the pitch for various matches in this season.

Iniesta wants to continue helping out Barcelona for as much and as long as he can, this is one of the main reasons of why the Spanish player has opted to not have any contract extensions until the end of the season.

"I'm not saying I won't renew contract. I want to finish my career here, but that will be decided by my performances on the pitch and my feelings. I won't stay here if I am not important for the club. That's clear." Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta said as he revealed details concerning his current situation in Camp Nou.

It’s rumored that Iniesta has already received offers from clubs in China as well as in the MLS but that the Spanish midfielder rejected them as he just wants to focus on the current season and when it ends, that’s when he will make a decision as to whether or not to remain with Barcelona for a few more years or just join another club entirely.
