INIESTA WANTS NEYMAR TO REMAIN AT BARCA

Barcelona skipper Andres Iniesta had to comment on the popular issue at hand as he was constantly in the line of questioning over the future of teammates Neymar Jr.

The Spaniard said that only the Brazilian can address the issue head on.

“We would like you to not keep asking so much, but to end this, there is only one way: Neymar will speak. Neymar will give his explanations. We have to support him with the decision he makes.”

The multiple trophies winner added that he does not think “200-300 million” would be “more beneficial” to the Catalan side than retaining “one of the best players in the world.”

Iniesta said he was focused on the second El Clasico to be playing outside Spain. He spoke on the reported incident involving Neymar and a teammate Nelson Semedo.

“It’s true that there was that incident, which can be part of a training session. But because of the situation and what is being said about Ney, which is worldwide, it has much more significance. For those of us who are training however it’s nothing,” he said.

Neymar had clashed with new signing Semedo as he thought the attack on him was too strong for the training ground. The news made headlines as it showed that the pressure was getting to the Champions League winner.

Barcelona will meet Real Madrid two more times as part of preseason plans after winning their first duel. Iniesta said the game was special being an El Clasico game far from home.

“I hope it’s a great show, considering it’s right at the start of the season, but that should allow us to gain rhythm and confidence.”
